Job Description

Job Title: Security Officer

Position Summary:

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for patrolling all areas of the property, assisting guests with room access, and monitoring various security systems including Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and fire life safety systems. Your duties will include conducting daily physical hazard inspections, responding to accidents, administering first aid/CPR as necessary, and assisting guests and employees during emergency situations. Additionally, you will be required to document all security and loss prevention incidents, handle complaints and disturbances, and maintain the confidentiality of security-related information.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Patrol all areas of the property and assist guests with room access as needed.
2. Monitor Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and fire life safety systems.
3. Lock property entrances when required and conduct daily physical hazard inspections.
4. Respond to accidents, administer first aid/CPR as required, and assist during emergency situations.
5. Notify appropriate individuals in the event of accidents, attacks, or other incidents and defuse guest/employee disturbances.
6. Call for outside assistance if necessary and complete incident reports to document all security-related incidents.
7. Handle interruptions and complaints, resolve safety hazard situations, and escort unwelcome persons from the property without interrupting operations.
8. Report to scenes of vehicle accidents/thefts and call for assistance using proper code responses.
9. Complete a Loss Prevention shift summary/daily activity report and maintain the confidentiality of all security-related reports/documents.
10. Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and conduct interviews with relevant parties.

In addition to the specific security responsibilities outlined above, you will also be expected to:

- Follow all company policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management, and complete safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance, protect company assets, and welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with others, develop positive working relationships, and support team goals.
- Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards, and perform physical tasks as required by the position.
- Read and verify information in various formats, use computers and/or point of sale systems, and move and manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
